How do I register for AskPeopleYouKnow?
To get started on AskPeopleYouKnow, you will need to type in the security password that you received in your invitation email - this allows you to become an "beta tester".
Once you have done that, you will be asked to provide your name, a valid email address and a password of your choice on the first page of the website. If you also provide your full postcode you will be able to find local people and information easily.
Once you have filled in these details, we will send an email to the address you provided. This will happen immediately and is our way of confirming your identity. Click the web link in the email to launch your own sign in page for AskPeopleYouKnow.
My confirmation email has not arrived
If the confirmation does not arrive please check:
- your email application's spam or junk folder
- that you are logged in from the email address or account that you provided to us.
Your Internet Service Provider may block some emails.

It says my email address is already being used
This means you have already set up an AskPeopleYouKnow account. Please click here to activate an email reminder of your password.
It says my email address is invalid. What do I do?
Check carefully that you have entered your correct email address. If you still experience problems then please contact us on feedback@AskPeopleYouKnow.com.

I know I have logged in before, and now I cannot get in
To use this website your web browser must accept 'cookies' (small packets of information that confirm who you are). They are not harmful to your machine and cannot be used for any malicious purposes. I receive a message that says my AskPeopleYouKnow account has been deleted
If your account is deleted and you wish to access the site, please contact us at feedback@AskPeopleYouKnow.com so that we can reinstate your login.
I want to change my AskPeopleYouKnow password
Once you have logged into your AskPeopleYouKnow account, you can reset your password at any time by going to your Account page. Make sure that you keep your details safe and never share them with anyone else.
I have completed my profile, what is the next step?
Once you have completed your profile, why not search for and communicate with people who you know, create a classified ad or ask a question, or upload some photos to share with friends.
Alternatively, you can create a group of friends who have a shared interest or who want to plan an activity together. Or simply upload some photos to share with family and friends.
Does AskPeopleYouKnow use my personal information for marketing?
We do not distribute your user information to outside agencies or spammers.
How do I report abuse?
Every piece of content on AskPeopleYouKnow has a 'report abuse' link next to it. Simply click the link and follow instructions if you would like to tell us about something you are unhappy about.
I do not wish to be part of AskPeopleYouKnow anymore - what do I do?
If you want to leave AskPeopleYouKnow, simply let us know at cancel@AskPeopleYouKnow.com.
I would like to update my email address
Once you have logged into AskPeopleYouKnow, you can change your email address at any time by going to your Account page.
I do not want my gender and postcode to be shown anywhere
By default, your gender and full postcode details are hidden from other AskPeopleYouKnow users. Your postcode helps to connect you to other local users, products and services, but does not reveal address. You are given the option to change these settings when you go to your Account page.
